Hi there. Could someone please try to answer my question?
For applying for permanent resident in CA, we had a choice of visa office in Vienna(Austria) or London(UK). As we reside in UK, we have chosen(bad choice) the London office. Only then we´ve realized the it takes roughly four times longer to process the application in UK than it would in Austria.
What should we expect after submitting our application (under skilled worker scheme) to UK London visa office. We received a positive reply from Canada, requesting all supporting documents to be sent to London office. I´ve read on the website, that visa office should, upon receiving the documents, inform us in writing on how long does it take to process our specific case. It has been nearly two months now, and no one from London office had contacted us. They successfully ignore our attempts to contact them, the "nice" lady just repeatedly says to wait for few years. Does anyone has real life experience with London immigration office , or would we be better off withdrawing our application and start over again in Vienna??? Will the processing fee still be refunded to us in this stage??? Thanks to all for reading..

I am not an expert...just one of the people who read these posts...
I was under the understanding that after the new regulations SW applications were going to be processed within a year... so the ´wait few years´ is not normal... I am assuming you sent your application after Feb 2008 that is...
It shouldn´t take to long for them to reply or communicate with you in some way... too bad you didn´t do your research before sending the application though...

Hey, I forgot... I believe that you can withdraw your application and get your money back if CIC has not yet issued you a file number... I am not sure if it will make a real difference to withdraw the application and apply again via Vienna... but... you could also consider keeping the application in London and trying to get a job in Canada... that will speed up things for sure... in Vienna or London...

Just to clarify it a bit we have applied on 08/08. Reply from Canada with request for documents received in 01/09 and sent back to London in 01/09. As we were issued a file number both in Canada and in London immigration office, I assume that we beter leave it as it is and hope for best. Would you by any chance have a link or something about those new regulations you were refering to above so I can read through. Thanks again for your help.
