| Subject: Where to complain when application ignored? |

Ok, let me quickly explain.
I applied close to 16 months ago for the permanent residence under the Skilled immigration program (federal). I have more than the points needed (lived in canada for the past 5 years, have a MSc from a Canadian university and have a job too) Now, my application was sent from Buffalo to Seattle a year ago, according to the letter i was then sent, in order to "expedite" the process. Well, obviously nothing has been "expedited" if so it has actually been delayed! I cannot check the status of the application online because it is in Seattle and not in Buffalo, i cannot call because they don´t answer this sort of things and if i send an email i simply don´t get an answer. I´m running out of options. thought of hiring a lawyer but an immigration customer service from cigc told me that wouldn´t help.
She recommended me to send a complain letter but what i want is for somebody to do actually check my file and tell me why is it taking so damn long?
Any advise?

If you are still in canada try to order CAIPS. It should give you details on your case. It is also FREE. Here are the necessary links.

The first link is the form to be filled. The second explains the privacy act. The third is the address´s where you can send the form to. Also when you get the CAIPS notes google CAIPS to get the codes.

i had sponsored my wife from russia and sponsorship approved and file in moscow opened in mid june. since then have heard nothing, i am not to contact them. on forum we have found cases where applicants whose file were opened later than ours have received visas. I do not know how to deal with this.My wife´s medical will expire in two days and will cost her again. I think the way the immigration works is very incompetant and now understand why quebec wanted it´s immigration seperate.I hope i can have somekind of answer. the chinese gentleman with mask who got in was smart and has atleast landed.I now also understand why boat people came and were hugged by our immigration despite of their means of coming.
