Subject: CAIPS: Privacy Act vs. Access to Information Act
  Hello,

when requesting CAIPS notes what is the difference in applying under the Privacy Act as opposed to the Access to Information Act. I don´t mind paying the $5 if it gets me what I need. I´m not a Canadian citizen but am in Canada on a Work Permit. Can I apply under either and what is there difference?

Thank you

If you really want (most of the) copies then do an access. If you want to upset them ask to view the file.

Thanks Roy.

Holy, do they really get pissed at every perosn who requests to see the notes? I wonder if it gets recorded on one´s file (sort of like a red flag) if they had requested to see CAIPS.
