I have got the receipt 2 days before with the file number in the format of B000000000.
But I am not able to check my status online.
Is this ( https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en ) the right place to check status online? and what do i need to select inside. Receipt number or Immigration file no. Both of them are not working.

You should choose immigration file, input the number, yr surname, BOD & country of residence.

WHEN they update e-cas it will show (In Process) but some embassies have their own e-cas system.
Relax and thing of something else because you do have proof they got your application.

Yes I applied at buffalo office. It took me almost 5 months to get my file number.

CIC local office received my Federal Skilled worker application on 3rd February as per DHL track. When i will get updates/ when can i get response ?

It really depends on which CIC office it was sent to. You can go to www.cic.gc.ca and on the front page check the processing times, but they are only an estimate. My application for spouse sponsorship was recieved on jan 18, and it will take approximately 64 days (as per the website right now). http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/02b-skilled-fed.asp seems to be the page u need.

It will take time around 2-6 months. I got one after 5 months.
