To All

Well I REALLY feel obligated to respond to this posting being a Consultant.

I have always said here. GET REFERENCES AND MAKE SURE THE PERSON HAS EXPERIENCE IN YOUR AREA OF CONCERN.

When one wants to purchase anything (that person) has an obligation to research everything about the product they wish to purchase.

Hence "Buyer Beware"

People who allegedly run scams like Bernie Maidoff etc. come in all shapes and sizes.

This CIC VIDEO is about Consultants and they lump all Consultants together. There is a difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a difference between ones authorized and ones not authorized.

There is a difference between scam artists and persons actually assisting.

What about Lawyers? What about the Lawyers from other countries that are not authorized representatives?

Sometimes the client only wants to here that the representative will win. Some people want to hear

"Put the Money on the desk I´ll take care of it for you"!!!

Ms. Robin Seligman I respect. We worked on opposite sides of the issue when I was representing the Minister of CIC at detention reviews and she was representing those in the detention centre I was running.

Can Ms. Seligman give examples of Lawyers who are members of the CBA or LSUC that need continuing professional development with IRPA & IRPR issues?

Do Lawyers who are Authorized Representatives with 95% of their main practice in Criminal or Corporate Law sometimes take Immigration clients? Has a Lawyer who is authorized ever taken on their very first Immigration Client to help pay the bills without ever seeing an Immigration Act or the Regulations?

YES

Yes!

Would they be my first choice if I was in need of Immigration advice. NO!!!

If your being charged $5,000.00 for a work permit like these people or $5,000.00 upfront just to apply for a student permit with another $5,000.00 when medicals are issued the CLIENT´S and these people in this Video should know better!

********************************************************

I HAVE A QUESTION FOR THE POLITICIANS AND THE MINISTER OF IMMIGRATION, THE IRB, CIC, CBSA

When deciding to do something about SCAM ARTIST, Criminals or people who call themselves Consultants WHY.................. did you create a Law so weak that CIC, CBSA and IRB interpret Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulation R13.1 (1) as it is written in the last paragraph of the In Land Processing Manual I9 chapter 2 found here. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/ip/ip09-eng.pdf

Before CIC starts pointing fingers saying BEWARE OF CONSULTANTS.

CIC should do another Video informing all of the mess they made of regulating REAL QUALITY IMMIGRATION CONSULTANTS by creating legislation that can be interpreted so!

Excuse me I´m not allowed to be too critical.

Always get references and only hire someone who has plenty of experience in your area of concern.

I myself used a consultant.
We interviewed several by phone and yes did run into some that I wouldn´t trust at all, in fact several in the Victoria area totally misrepresented themselves and yes there were members of one of the (2?) bodies. I finally found on in Toronto.
The main thing is speaking with the person ask for references and use google ... if they are a scam or just bad chances are you will find out.

It is sounds to good to be true then it is.

With that said I think Roy would have made a decent one to try also just didnt have to go any farther than one call to the toronto area :)

where there is desperation there is opportunities for fraud.

Sometimes people cannot accept the simple fact that they do not qualify for Canadian immigration and will twist and turn and squeeze and sadly cheat in hopes that they can change the outcome from no to yes. ´There must be a way´ has got to be the sweetest song an unscrupulous consultant can ever hear.

Immigration is not rocket science. In some instances (especially family class) a person needs help navigating the rules but that is a whole lot different than trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Either it fits, or it doesn´t. Either you qualify or you don´t.

I am inclinded to hold both the client and the consultant responsible.
