Subject: Land in Canada or at the border? |

Hi- my wife has just received her PR visa in her passport and has to land before June 01. We are already in Canada- she has been a visitor since August- the options are to drive down to the US and land at the border or to set up an interview at a CIC office. Is there any benefit to choosing one or the other? We have no problems doing either- just wondering if anyone has heard pros or cons of either. Thanks.

(in reply to: Land in Canada or at the border?) So your wife is a visitor? FROM???
If she is from the states or has a US visa drive to the border no In-Land office will Land her with a COPR.

(in reply to: Land in Canada or at the border?) Sorry- she is a visitor from the UK- no US visa.

(in reply to: Land in Canada or at the border?) She can land inland. This has recently been changed and as of September of last year, if an outland applicant is in Canada when they receive their PR visa, they can call and advise that they wish to land at a local office. They will contact you and depending on the office it could take over a month.
