Who can sponsor a foreign worker and how do you go about it?

What you mean by sponsoring a foreign worker is a little confusing.

Certain provinces have PNP Provincial Nominee Programs which allow a business person based on certain terms to offer that foreign worker a full time position.

I suggest you go to www.cic.gc.ca and click on Immigrate on the left side and find the link to Provincial nominee than click on Ontario for example.

Best of luck

Hi,
I am from England, working here on a temporary visa. My employer who would be the buisness man has offered to sponsor me.
I have looked into PNP but it seems they are for skilled workers, as a horse trainer I don´t fit in to that catagory.
Any info I found regarding sponsors suggested only family members could sponsor or be sponsored.
Sorry I can´ty explain it any better, I don´t understand it any better.
Kerry.

Your future employer has to prove to the Ontario (province??) provincial government that he can´t find a Canadian for that position, being that the case he will have to get what is called an HRDC approval and with that document you may apply for a work permit.

Cheers,

Bill
