All perspective immgrants, don´t worry about the recession. You have a bright future in Canada. Lot of jobs are waiting!!!

"Liberal MP Jim Karygiannis said the economic downturn is no excuse to lower immigration levels, because newcomers are still needed to "fill the void of what Canadians don´t want to do."

It is indeed a very honest testimony.

WOW quoting Jim K anonymous now there is a man who is not shy from public comment on any subject.

So lets focus are there jobs that foreigners will and can do that Canadian´s do not want to do.

YES to be able to hire a foreigner the company has to prove that they have been looking for workers in that particular occupation for some time.

Do foreign workers drive down wages of Canadian´s?
NO the foreign workers have a contract with the employer that HRSDC gets a copy of and has to account for that new employee when hiring more foreign workers.

Well said Roy! (in reply to: Fill the void of what Canadians don't want to do.")
Roy, if you are a born/raised CANADIAN and you truly believe that immigration has to serve the interests of its own citizens. And that it cannot be turned into a social assistance program for other countries. And that it should never be a social engineering experiment that is conducted on Canadians, please visit immigrationwatchcanada.org

Because right now, immigration has become those 2 things.

Why? In particular, why has Canada’s 250,000 per year immigration intake remained in place for 20 years?

The answer is that all of Canada’s major political parties have adopted the attitude that they know what is best for Canadians and that Canadians do not have to be consulted when major decisions are made.

These politicians imply that the primary purpose of immigration is to help people in other countries, whether this help is to protect them from persecution or from unemployment. These politicians claim that their position is morally superior, and that this is why they support current immigration policies.
