Dear all,
first thank you for the helpful reply. I got my PR visa passport request after about 15 mts as of the beginning. Not bad. I am very very happy.
My passport is expiring in Sept, 2009, does anyone think that will be a problem?

Thanx

Congrats! you were very stressed!

The expiry date of the visa will be one year from the medicals or the expiry of the passoprt, which ever comes first.

Example:

Medicals done Jan 2, 2009
The visa will be made to be valid until Sep 2009. They cannot make until Jan 1 2010.

If your passport has only one day you could land but as guys mentioned you have to look at your visa expiry date and land within that period .

Dear Anonymous,

I mailed my passport for the visa to get stamped, but within the letter the Canadian Consulate general mailed to me there is a requirement for the passport to be valid for at least one year and mine is expiring in 8 mts.
Regardless of that it is valid 1 yr and few days from the day I went to see the doctor, so keep your fingers crossed for me.
Thank you for all the help

Polina
