i have a story (true story) about my friend with his family. he landed in canada with his wife and 2 children. they came (as in visa) as visitor. as soon as they arrived they went to an immigration lawyer who has had contacted long before their arrival. the lawyer then helped the family with applied them to the CIC for adjusting their legal status being PR. so far the family could survive their life while waiting for their PR status with working in the survival jobs area (you know like working in restaurants or gas station). right now they got their PR status succesfully.
according to that story, what kind of theory do you guys have about that? how could my friend stay working while he wait his PR status?

So is it better to go to Canada first using a visitor visa and apply for PR there? rather than waiting for 4-5 years applying outside canada?
If you´re working while waiting, does it count as being illegal? How long does it take for them to get their PR status?
Honestly, I could survive in Canada in 1 year (without work but have to be really careful with spending money). So if I can wait for a year in Canada while the PR is being processed, I´ll do it thay way rather than waiting for who-knows how long.
DO you happen to know which lawyer they are using? Thanks

i heard that they wait for 2 years until the PR approval. i didn´t ask about the lawyer´s name.

that´s what i´m talking about johny, how could that happen?...what´s more is, this happen also to my other friend who live in another city in canada with different lawyer. i don´t find any theory from CIC about this case, but this really happen.
any idea my friends?
