Subject: Points for wife's one-year dilploma in ESL. Help!!
Hi guys. Happy New Year. I am claming 67 points in my application based on my education, work experience, age and Language proficiency I will have the 67 points. However, I will try to claim extra 3 points for my wife´s one-yer diploma based on adaptabulity. She received an one-year diploma in English as a Second Language. They might or might not award me those 3 points. Will they return my application if they do not award me those 3 points even if I already got the 67 points mark?

Thank you.

the simple answer is no. you can claim all the points you want but CIC makes the final determination for everyone.

Is ESL considered by the CIC? Help (in reply to: Points for wife's one-year dilploma in ESL. Help!!)
Do you guys think that they might award point for one-year diploma for English as a Second Language or it is not considered a real diploma?

Thanks.

Marcelo it is possible as they say they will award 3 points for ´a one-year diploma, trade certificate, apprenticeship or university degree of two years or more AND at least 12 years of full-time equivalent studies´

Did she finish High School? if she did, I believe you will get the 3 extra points...

Good luck!
