Subject: Update documents sent..need I send IELTS or wait?
  Hi,

I send my updated documents without the IELTS (since I had already submitted documents as proof of language). In the meantime I did take the exam and passed with an overall score of 8.5

Listening: 8.5
Reading: 7.5
Speaking: 9
Writing: 8

Should I send the result to CHC or wait for them to ask me to submit the same? Its been over a month since my updated documents were sent to them.

What would ur advice be?

thanks

Excellent score Malika, Where are you from? I guess from an English speaking country in where youve been living for a long time. Let them ask for score, it takes time to listen from CIC.

Hey Jnathan,

I am an Indian, born and brought up there (city of Mumbai/Bombay). Entire schooling and university done there too. Medium of instruction - English!!

Thanks for the advice. I think I may wait for their next move before I submit the result.

cheers!

Sending IELTS results now will only help you shorten the processing time.

Hi Samm,

I guess it will, but won´t they find it weird that I didn´t submit my results with the updated stuff (my 90 day deadline was Jan 1st). I didn´t wait to send the results cuz wasn´t sure how I would score. Should I wait till after the 1st and then send?? Do let me know what u think.

thanks.

Malika, what do you mean by "my 90 day deadline was Jan 1st" ?

1. Is it a letter from CIC requesting you to update your documents within 90 days?

2. Is the CIC already done with your IA (Initial Assessment) when you received this 90 days deadline to update your documents?

3. How many years have you been in the queue since you filed your application?

Congrats for excellent score !!!

Don´t consider anymore advices and opinions.

Send your Score Card just today.

You might had submitted proof your language, education and work both, but in such a case you have to depend on the acceptance and evaluation of the documents and based on that their evaluation and henceforth decision.

I have faced the PR interview at CHC,ND and observed and concluded that to take any decision Visa Officer needs proof and supportings. I had sent my IELTS score after the expiry of deadline, but I mentioned in the application for the same.
If you will send your score they will straightaway attributes the points and will clear your file.

What´s wrong in sending the score card ? It will NEVER...NEVER...NEVER against you but will help you.

SEND THE SCORE JUST TODAY... DON´T WAIT..
ALL THE BEST.

Hey Malika - I have one question for you. When you registered for IELTS exam here in Canada and paid the fees, where you given a textbook by the examination authorities (I think it will be British Council)?

I have to currently appear for IELTS - General for my immigration application.

When I appeared for IELTS - Academic in Mumbai for my student visa, British Council had provided us with a textbook.

You can send the IELTS result. No, they will not find it weird as people send different documents at different times based on availability. You can always send documents which you think can help your case more clear or fetch you more points. I am assuming you have not received initial assessment.

Hi Tanya, Here are the answers to ur questions:

1. Is it a letter from CIC requesting you to update your documents within 90 days? YES IT IS A LETTER SENT BY CIC WHEN THEY ARE READY TO PROCESS UR FILE. IT IS VALID FOR 90 DAYS. MINE ARRIVED IN OCT, THEREFORE EXPIRED IN JAN.

2. Is the CIC already done with your IA (Initial Assessment) when you received this 90 days deadline to update your documents? I WOULD NOT KNOW SINCE THE ONLY THING I HJAVE RECD FROM THEM SINCE MY AOR IS THIS LETTER

3. How many years have you been in the queue since you filed your application? SINCE MORE THAN 2 YEARS NOW. FILED APPLICATION IN JULY 2006

REGARDS

hey bunty,

I enrolled in the UAE and not Canada. U do get the material to study, but u have to pay extra. I opted to just do a couple of sample tests online. Also if u have registered with the British Council, u can use their library for free by showing them ur fee receipt. Ask them before u buy the material. It may save u some money.

regards,
