Subject: sponsoring my wife
Hi, I am a Permanent Resident of Canada and recently got a contract job in USA for few months on H1B and currently in USA. Now, I am living in USA and wants to sponsor my wife who lives with me in USA. I want to know how to proceed. Shall I apply for her sponsorship from Canada or can I start her processing from USA. If I want to start her process after I go back to Canada she cannot come with me so, is it possible for me to take her on visit visa to Canada and get her status adjusted in Canada. Please suggest me. Thank you.

You must reside in Canada to start the process since you are a PR and not a citizen

http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/immigrate/sponsor/spouse-apply-how.asp

You can sponsor a spouse, common-law or conjugal partner, or dependent children if you are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada. To be a sponsor, you must be 18 years of age or older.

Be sure that you meet everything outlined in the requirements.

I would for sure be careful about bringing her to Canada then applying. If they suspect anything at the border (IE she has not intention of leaving after the visa expires) then she can be turned away.
