| Subject: URGENT....Passport to SEND INDIA for VISA STAMP |

Hi All...please reply soon if any one has faced this situation. Right now I am in US on H1B visa with my family. I am expecting a call from CHC in Mar 2009 fro Visa stamping. I heard that I have to go to INDIA for atlest 2 monthe as CHC needs 2 months for PP stamping. Visiting INDIA for 2 months is not possible being in USA on H1B job. Max I can go is 1 MONTH vacation...
Please advise on the below point:
a. Can I send the PP thru some reliable Courier to CHC or my Consultant for PP stamping. IF yes is this advisable to do so, as during this period I and my family will be here without the Passport.
Let me know what are various option I can go with for PP stamping from INDIAN CHC.

You would want to check with the courier and the Indian consulate/high commission. But I think in India you cannot send passport in and out of the country by mail.

You cannot send indian passports by mail or courier, it is illegal. Read the fine print in the passport. You can however send this with a authorized person ( with authority letter). Maybe one of you can go taking all passports ( with authority letter explaining everything)or find someone who will be willing to do this.

If any one of us visit india with all passports then How much time CHC takes for stamping ... 1 month or 2 months.
And during this period if other person is in USA without passport will it be a problem for him..GOD forbidden if happens... Also is this a legal way and approved by any Govt. (India / USA) to understand the situation if I am in USA without passports for that period.
Reply to my above queries and tell me in advance how should I plan for this.
I have lots of other queries also which will be coming later on..

The LA office took a month to return our passports after stamping. Delhi office you would have to inquire. I do not think there would be a problem in US if you are without passport for that duration unless you plan to travel outside. And in any case they would understand the situation ( have copies of all pages with you)but again understand does not mean you can travel.

I am making my queries more simplified to reply in less words:
(a). I have applied thru some consultant in india..can they help in collecting the passport in person from here in USA.
(b) If my is pregnant during the Medical test.. will it be considered for Medicals. What consideration will be there (please..please explain)
(c) During the period our passports are in CHC, New Delhi...Can i change job here in USA. If Yes then do H1 transfer process needs the original passports.
(just a query ... right now there is no plan to do this ...:))
(d) Sunita Can you send me you yahoo chat ID as i think you have lots of information which can guide me well....and solve my queries instantly........
(e) Medical are a simple process or its lengthy one.. where can i find addresses of Doctors doing MEDICAL in USA for CaNADA IMMIGRATION...

Hi All
I am new to this forum? My question is not related to Canadian visas, but, a general passport handling query related to this forum´s topic.
I am an Indian working in Morocco with a work permit. My Indian wife has also got a residence in Morocco, based on my status. Being residents in Morocco, we can apply for entry visas to various countries without requiring to go back to India to apply it at the embassy there. We have done this in the past too and the process is simpler there, than applying in India.
I have a business visit to Jordan soon, and plan to take my wife with me. I am in India now, but, this time, my wife is not going with me initially. I plan to carry her passport with me (with an authorization letter), get a Jordanian visa at the embassy in Morocco for both of us, and come back to India, and fly to Jordan together. I have checked with the embassy and they are fine with this, till I provide valid documents to them for both of us.
What I want to know is:
1) Is it illegal to have "visa in absentia" for my wife as per Indian immigration rules? I mean, can Indian immig. @ new delhi create problems as to why my wife was not present in Morocco when I got the visa? When they swipe her passport, they could know that she did not travel to Morocco, but, still got visa delivered at Morocco. Has anyone flown out of India on a visa that they obtained from another country, without traveling to that country?
2) I read somewhere that it is illegal to carry another person´s passport outside India, even with an Authorization letter. The Caution on the last page of the passport just talks about custody, and not about traveling with another person´s passport...
I went through the whole passport act and amendments on Ministry of Ext Affairs website, but found nothing in this regard. It only says one can not use someone else´s passport...so, I am not using my wife´s passport, just carrying it...
Urgent advise is appreciated.

every country has different rules about visas and passports. You will need to contact the contries involved for accurate information.

My ecas status in is in process. In this process, they received medical results and all. In new delhi office , they received my passport on mar 21st 2012. Recently they sent a mail to me in that we have received your passport and your file is under final review queue. there is no action required from your part. They sent mail on may 2nd. How long till i wait. i cant wait without my husband please and favourable reply for me
