Subject: Buffalo- Interview call aftr 1yr from Medials
Hi Roy/Sharon/or anyone who can help,

I have just recieved a letter from CIC-Buffalo...that they require a interview to further process my immigration application.......my details are as follows:

AOR: May 07
IA: November 07
Medical: December 07
Interview Letter: November 08
Sceduled: March 09

They are asking for interview 1 year after i have completed my medicals. My medical has expired as of Dec 2008.

My interview was intially wavied after IA and after 1 year of completing my medicals they are now asking for an interview... i have request CAPIS notes to see y would they ask for an interview.

I have been in Canada since 6 years and previously whenever i emailed Buffalo they replied back saying that BG checks have been requested for my application and then early Nov 08 got a interview letter for March 09....I am an in-canada applicant on LMO approved work permit

I have heard and read on several blogs that some interviews are just conducted as security checks ?? dont know if this is linked to BG checks ...everything is clear from my side.

Has anyone previously been to an interview?? do they have a paper file in front of them of all documents i have intially send them??...i dont have the original experience/emplyment/reference as it was send to them....?

Did anyone get this kind of letter and why would they ask me for an interview? ? What are they going to ask in the interview? they requested me to bring T4/paystub/work letters/education....has anyone been through an interview...please assist me....as most people dont get called for interviews........

Thanks....for your replies inadvance

Buffalo usually asks for interview if they become concerned about certain things in your file such as "gap" in your work history..what have you doing during the six years you spent in Canada..provide proof for something you claimed in your file...
It seems that there is something that suddenly arose during the file review of your file....I would bring all the original documents of my work, education and anything I claimed in my application (such as marriage).

If approved, you will be eligibile to apply for the canadian ctizenship..Every day you spent in Canada before the PR approval is counted as half a day..since you already stayed for 6 years, this means you fulfilled the 3 year requirement........

On the search bar on this forum and others, put (interview)in the search bar and you will see a lot of postings............

hi:
My situation was like yours. My interview took 3 hours and the interviewer, who looked to be a security agent, checked all the details of my application with me and asked me several more questions. It was certainly a security interview. I did my interview in August 2008, but no response since then.
Good luck,
Zara

hi
th esecurity interview is a big enigma, I doubt any one can give a straight answer.

someone said that "If approved, you will be eligibile to apply for the canadian ctizenship..Every day you spent in Canada before the PR approval is counted as half a day..since you already stayed for 6 years, this means you fulfilled the 3 year requirement........ "

this is not correct
the accumilation of half days before being a PR can be a maximum of 1 year. ie: at the day you want to submit your citizenship application you need to a) have 2 years as PR b) look back 4 years making sure you have at least 3 in Canada
therefore, two years after you get your PR, look back 4 years and every day you were in Canada before becoming a PR you count as 1/2 day, but no more than 1 year. in otherwords, people who have been living in canada for so many years on temporary status, once getting their PR, assuming they do not leave Canada, can appl after 2 years, as appose to the 3 other PR need.
