Subject: Landing in New Brunswick (leaving and re-entering) |

Hi all,
I just received my passport request and will soon be coming to the final stages of my application. I applied through the family class outside Canada but am currently in the country as a visitor. When my passport and landing documents get back to me, I understand that I will have to leave and re-enter Canada to "land". So my question is where is the best place to do this? I am currently in Saint John, NB. and would be looking to drive/take the bus to a border. I have been unable to find any list or information on places where this landing is actually possible.
Thanks for any help,
Cheers, Paul

(in reply to: Landing in New Brunswick (leaving and re-entering)) your best bet is through the usa if you have a visa for it. whichever usa city is nearest where u are now.

(in reply to: Landing in New Brunswick (leaving and re-entering)) Here´s a list of CBSA offices that offer immigration services - http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/contact/listing/indexpages/indextype38-e.html.
Pick whichever is nearest and accessible to you.

(in reply to: Landing in New Brunswick (leaving and re-entering)) The closest border crossing to Saint John is at St. Stephen/Calais Maine. It´s just a bit over an hour, depending on where you are. Take the 1 south--you can´t miss it! :)

(in reply to: Landing in New Brunswick (leaving and re-entering)) Thanks! I guess like with the rest of this whole immigration process, it´s way easier than I perceive it to be. For some reason I thought there were only a handful of places I could do this. St. Stephen will do me just fine. Thanks again.
