Subject: PR application and working visa... (from UK)
Thought i would throw this open... however i have done the research and its fine...

My partner in the UK (we are both in the UK) has appied for PR, her parents are already in Canada for 20 years (just under) they have Canada passports, i am on her application as common law (we are engaged).

This was July 2006, however she went to Canada with her parents 20 years ago and left, i think this has held up the application (as we have not heard and they seem to be doing Jan 2007 applicants now from TRACKIIT).

I have a job in Canada (with contract) since Fevruary 2008 i have an AEO (from HRSDC) however London CIC says as not principle applicant i wont get the points (dont need them) however my employer is bouncing off the wall as i am not there in 6 months as HRSDC said it would take (seems small loop hole about principle applicant and the 6 month wait).

So i decided best idea is to land and apply for work visa at passport control in Toronto (i can do this, visitor visa exempt and medical excempt, this is confirmed on the CIC website, other research says i should here in no longer than 24 hours doing this for a working visa) however has anyone actually done this before?

We would bring ALL paperwork with us about PR application and the reasons for me landing and asking for work visa (and the letters from my employer in Canada as she will come for a weeks holiday so i can use her baggage for my work items as work in IT).

I have had AEO since March 2008... My employer wrote to me asking where i am, we sent this to London CIC, no response, we emailed them checking the above work visa idea, no repsonse, however they wont respond if we have answer already (as all the above idea we got from CIC main website).....

I assume my plan is airtight, i have no conviction and was even asked to be a Magistrait in the UK and will bring this proof with me as well....

I might add i will stay and work (living at her parents) and she will go home to the UK and wait for the PR application to follow through which has us both on it.

Looking forward to hear the answers and input.

Many Thanks
Ashley (UK citizens)
