it can be as easy as going to the border and coming back 10 minutes later - fondly referred to as flag poling!

Haven´t CIC just changed this so that flagpolling is no longer required?
I´m sure I read this recently

May be worth doing a google search !

Haven´t u read the instructions in the letter you received when you got your COPR and visa? It clearly says that if you are in canada, there is no need to go the border..just refer to any nearby cic office and change your status.

Flagpoling is no longer required, you can ´land´ at a CIC office in Canada:

I see we are back to what one reads and what is correct can be two totally different things.

You have to be a member of the class referred to in R 71.1 and subsection 70.2 (a) & (b)

From this posting they are clearly not CEC applicants.

according to this http://canadagazette.gc.ca/partII/2008/20080917/html/sor253-e.html

you have to be applying under family class or economic class defined as ...

The economic class consists of the federal skilled worker class, the transitional federal skilled worker class, the Quebec skilled worker class, the provincial nominee class, the investor class, the entrepreneur class, the self-employed persons class, the transitional federal investor class, the transitional federal entrepreneur class and the transitional federal self-employed persons class as listed in R70(2)(b). (Regulations to introduce the Canadian Experience Class will add the new class to those listed in R70(2)(b) so as to extend the benefits of this provision to members of the new class.) To be eligible under this measure, members of these classes will have to be residing temporarily in Canada and have been issued a permanent resident visa from a visa office outside Canada.

not just CEC class

Roy,

I was under the impression that any person with a valid temporary visa in Canada can avail this service to ´land" if they have been granted permanent visa.

Are you saying this is not so, and only CEC applicants can use it?

Lets focus on it this way. One you are here and have applied abroad as a FSW lets say. You have obtained a COPR certificate and are ready for Landing in your opinion.

So lets get Landed in Canada instead of leaving and returning just because it costs money. You do not need a CVV or you have a TRV and you do not want to leave and return because it could cost you money.

Okay lets contact a local CIC office and get them to land me because........... it will cost me ________ much to fly or drive out of Canada and return.

DON´T FORGET YOU MUST GET LANDED BEFORE YOUR MEDICAL EXPIRES!!!!

I know numbers of individual officers at Scarborough CIC, Etobicoke CIC, St. Clair CIC yeah I know anonymous 29.23.218 Toronto EAST, WEST and CENTRAL CIC and Mississauga CIC.

Let the client/applicant WITH THE COPR find those numbers and convince those officers to convince other officers to stop their work just to land applicant ABC because he/she refuses to leave and return.

Hell I can get a flight on the shuttle easier!

All H&C applicants who are approved in the GTA including spousal sponsorships approved are sent a letter that Landing can take one or two years.

COMMON SENSE GO HOME AND SEE MOMMY AND DADDY INSTEAD.

I really fail to see your point Roy.
Another way of "landing" was mentioned, you inferred that it wasn´t possible in that situation.
It is, your advice was misleading.
