Subject: Confused about moving to Canada
I am orignally from India, been working in US in Computer Programming for about 5 years and now intend to land in Canada on skilled Permanent residence.I have bachelors degree in Engineering from India and about 6 years for experiance in IT. Does it make sense for someone like me to immigrate to Canada? Can I expect to find decent job (will my education qualification be accepted?) and living environment in Canada? Or should I return to India and work there after my temporary assignment in USA ends? I know, these days India is growing fast in terms of jobs but of course living conditions are far below western standards.
Your advice and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

No it makes no sense what so ever.

Your an IT person and you know very well NO one from India has ever gotten a job in the IT field in Canada!

That not one former Indian Citizen has ever become successful in Canada!

Your an IT person and you can not research this question on your own.

I SMELL A TROLL!

Your US experience counts a lot and may facilitate securing a job.

get a work permit, PNP or whatever. economy is getting softer, new rules are kicking in that will limit immigration for those not holding specific skills. Best way to insure you are making the best choice for your family is to secure employment.

Canadian Employers would never give you a job without a degree from their Institutions. Indian degree will be in no use in Canada. but your Programing exp in the US will surely be in count but that too has be endorsed by proper authority.

I know of one person who migrated to Canada after his BE from india without experience. He landed and very practically started with the first job offered which was not his field. This was to keep at least some money coming in . He then started projects side by side which supplemented his income and in 6 months landed a job in his field as he kept pursuing. Today almost 2 years later and he says I am happy - I have a job and some savings ( this would have not been possible in India) and quality life. Again he may have been lucky. Would you rather not try and see than go thru your life wondering what if you had succeeded? Canada is a great place but do not expect red carpets laid out you have to go thru same hard work but quality of life makes it worth it!
