Canadian Election - Immigration

Subject: Canadian Election - Immigration
What is wrong with the Canadian Political Parties and their leaders. Is Immigration not a subject that most Canadians want answers about?

It is an ideal time for all here or those wanting to sponsor parents to attend all candidate meetings and push them for answers. That is if you don´t have to drive to the meeting. Gas Prices EH.

Why does it take two years to assess whether or not a sponsor of a parent is a Canadian or PR residing in Canada who meets the LICO? Two years, prompt processing?

Five years to render a decision on H&C?

10 years to remove someone who failed their refugee claim?

Why can you not reach more agreements with the crown attorney to stay or withdraw charges so removal of persons before the courts?

I have not heard one single peep from any of the four/five parties leaders about their stand on Immigration.

What about your relatives get them out to these meetings and send them a question to pose to the candidates.

Lets turn the heat up, just a little.

How about these questions. R they something you want answers to?

Why IELTS language testing instead of occupational language testing?

Why does the Conservative Party think its necessary to amend the regulations when 80% of all Work Permit applications from Visa posts in Europe and the Americas take less then a month to process?

If the Conservatives cared about the backlog why after introducing the CEC class to begin in October 2008 did they only begin to hire the staff in September?

Why should we trust the Liberals to improve things they created the current FSW backlog?

If one obtains a LMO to hire a Construction worker from Portugal why does it take three months from the date the worker takes the medical for CIC to be informed if he/she passed or failed the medical?

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OUT THERE?

I´m attending my all candidates meeting next week so give me some questions to ask.

the only one that might promise such a thing is the NDP and they will never form the government.

Dion , Harper and Layton are flying on the Executive Airbus to a gathering in British Columbia when Dion turns to Harper and says,
chuckling, "You know, I could throw a $1000 bill out the window right now and make someone very happy ."

Harper shrugs and replies, "Well, I could throw ten $100 bills out the window and make ten people happy."

Not to be outdone, Layton says, "Well I could throw a hundred $10 bills out the window and make a hundred people happy."

The pilot rolls his eyes and says to his co-pilot,

"Such arrogant jerks back there. Heck, I could throw all three of them out the window and make 32 million people happy."

The Conservatives (could) form the government and pass legislation of a VERY NECESSARY nature to increase the processing of work permits from Europe and the Americas.

One week or less to process 50% of all work permits from Europe and the Americas is sooooooo necessary to improve processing times.

The Liberals and the Conservatives did nothing regarding the backlog of FSW applications. Sixty Eight Months to process 80% of all applications from all Visa Posts. Wow prompt processing.

COME ON NDP I HAVE A DREAM!

Jack Layton and his team would have to be far better then the Conservatives or the Liberals have been regarding Immigration.

I have a bricklayer who has been in Canada with his whole family for five years on valid work permits who owns his own house in Toronto yet he will not be able to pass the language requirement for Skill Level B to apply under CEC.

Anyways welcome back Sharon I missed your anti NDP stand.

I happen to like Layton. Just don´t like NDP economic policies. I live in BC. We flip every election between the Liberals and NDP so I have seen it first hand. I won´t be voting NDP any time soon.

Wasn´t it Jack & Olivia who said (when found to be living in subsidized housing in Toronto) "why should we move - we deserve it just as much as anyone else". That´s Jack Layton of the people, for the people but ME first.

Well understand when you smear a politician you have to get your facts straight. (when found to be living in subsidized housing) you´re funny I did not know they ever where in hiding.

Jack & Olivia were living in what is known as a cooperative where some people pay market rents and others are subsidized based on their needs. That helps lower income people to get a step up and learn to become politically involved with their neighbors and their community. It helps lower income people to get a second chance on having a better life.

That particular coop was right downtown in a trendy area and their market rent was quite high for the GTA. Without Jack and Olivia paying market rent the whole concept of affordable housing goes out the window.

I for many feel that their should be considerable more coop projects in and around the GTA because no one is building rental units. All the ghastly stories about disgusting rental unit conditions never include a COOP which supports itself.

Stephen Harper would not even take a grade five students letter asking why her parents are being removed.

Why her parents are going to be fined $485,000.00 for having above quota children,

why three Canadian children if they wish to go to school in China will have to give up their citizenship just to go to school and only after their parents p[ay that fine.

If your going to SMEAR a politician do a better job.

We´re getting CBC election coverage on CSPAN here in Chicago tonight.

Well, Sharon, it looks like Vancouver Centre riding could go to any of the 4 party candidates. Surprising and unusual here, because we only have 2 parties down here, and Chicago is strictly one party - Democratic, with an authoritarian mayor. I just can´t get used to these myriad of choices - it boggles the mind!

Roy, Toronto is in danger of going Conservative in some ridings. We´ll have to see how this develops.

And wannabe, wonder which way NB and your new riding is lining up tonight.

But looks like a Harper minority government for sure. Interesting to see how he´ll be able to warm up to an Obama presidency next door in a few months. A bit of a reversal of traditional roles here.

no worries about Stephen and Barack getting along. They have more common interests than differences (really, truly)

Vancouver Center LOL, ever watch WWF Wrestling. similar situation.

We just started to get coverage now. I did not expect the Conservatives to be doing as well as they are at this point. the numbers will start to significantly shift as we move west.

hang on to your seats, get the beer and popcorn. it is going to be a long night.

Like Sharon said the results are not what most expected. The shock, disbelief, horror, panic in these results means nothing has changed!

This country is severely wounded. Right in the west and Left in the East. The country is in huge major trouble because the only thing that is holding it together is Tim Hortons. I can´t even say Hockey anymore.

G. Kennedy why did you have to pick Dion???????

Well Trudeau got elected in Montreal.

I just can not see these politicians working together with a leader like Harper being as arrogant as he is. Layton will see the Liberals as they are (weak and ineffective) in need of a Leadership convention, AGAIN. Problem is Layton will never unify the Left.

Either the left unites or we keep going to the ballot box tearing this country in two.

Somebody help us.
