Firstly, your wife has to be permanent resident. To be eligible for Canadian citizenship, she must have lived in Canada for at least three years (1,095 days) out of the four years (1,460 days) preceding the application.

The sponsor guide states:

Canadian citizens not residing in Canada may sponsor their spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner and/or dependent children who have no dependent children of their own.

Sponsors not residing in Canada must provide evidence that they reside exclusively outside Canada on the date of giving the undertaking and will reside in Canada at the time their sponsored spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner and/or children become permanent residents of Canada. Evidence that they will reside in Canada may include one or more of the following:

? letter from an employer;
? letter of acceptance to a Canadian educational institution;
? proof of having rented/bought a dwelling in Canada;
? reasonable plans for re-establishing in Canada or severing ties to the other country.

Good luck!

question to sponsoring my wife while not in canada (in reply to: Sponsor my wife while not in canada)
my question on the below policy

"Sponsors not residing in Canada must provide evidence that they reside exclusively outside Canada on the date of giving the undertaking...

and will reside in Canada at the time their sponsored spouse become permanent residents of Canada."

the above sentence i need more detail on this.. at what time? Also do i also have to stay in Canada for 3 years as well with her, so she can get the permanent residency status in Canada? Does she has to stay in Canada continuesly or can she take vacations outside my country canada?

another question.

"Evidence that they will reside in Canada may include one or more of the following:

? proof of having rented/bought a dwelling in Canada;
? reasonable plans for re-establishing in Canada or severing ties to the other country. "

my question is that I am planning on purchasing a mobile home, since the economy is not good lately world wide. does this count as proof of having dwelling in Canada?

first you must divorce wife #1 - it takes a year. then you marry and begin to sponsor wife #2. you will need to prove wife #2 is not a relationship of convenience.

your sadness and regret at the demise of your first marriage is overwhelming.

I guess you cannot sponsor another spouse for three years.

if the sponsorship undertaking is cancelled before wife #1 lands, the 3 year waiting period would not apply.

Sponsor My wife (in reply to: Sponsor my wife while not in canada)
I sponsored my 1st wife and she did not came to Canada. She never used the PR visa or collected it from the Embassy. I got a refund. (Not full refund) So it was cancelled. then my second wife visited me on a holiday visa and I sponsored her when she left to her home country. Then it took so long (8months) and she could not wait and she filed a divorce. I cancelled the visa before it was finally processed. I got a partly refund. Then I married for the 3rd time and she too visited me 2 times in Canada on holiday visa and when her visa was processed she migrated to Australia. She is a surgeon and she knew she could not get a surgeon job in Canada except as a cleaner in a hospital. I cancelled the visa and got a partly refund. Now she is working as a surgeon in Australia and she has sponsored me and within 30 days I have got my visa and I will be moving to Australia. There is no ban on how many times you can marry as long as you have legally divorced. But you have to to cancel the PR states before she lands here on a PR visa. I never encounted that and do not know if she land here what will be next.

Sponsor husband (in reply to: Sponsor my wife while not in canada)
I live in the US and have sponsored my husband who lives in Pakistan. I am a Canadian citizen. It´s been 9 months and we still haven´t heard any reply for his PR yet. I feel helpless. What can I do. Yes my lawyer told me that I should go to Canada but I´m only 21 and I live with my parents and go to a university in the US.

unless you can verify that you are moving back to Canada, your sponsorship application will not be approved.
