(To everybody ...specially to sharon and roy...)

While filling up the immigration form ( simplified application for skilled worker), I was wondering if choosing city ( Ques. No 18 where do you intend to live in canada?) has any effect on application timing or selection process? Can anybody tell me which citeria should be taken into consideration while filling this point?
Thanks
zahed

Remember, when you choose a city selection on the form you may be asked during the interview, why do you want to go there? So you need to prepare yourself to answer such question (if asked) I would advise that you should put the city where you want to go and be ready to defend it if asked. Otherwsie mentioning the name of cities where there is labor shortage and more jobs available would probably help, but i am not sure about this point. I think over all affec, mentioning a city is not much on the process so just be honest and say where you want to go and why. there is alawys a reason to choose a prticular city. Right?

Thankx mike. You made a good point. Although I dont have the foggiest idea about which city will be good for me as I am a Biological researcher. I guess I need to do a little homework. May be Toronto, Montreal or any big city with relatively more number of college or university or research institutes are fine to put. What do u think? Anyway Thanx again mike.

don´t sweat about it. You will decide closer to the time you will land depending on the current job market and where the best options are for employment.

The question is primarily an internal question to help CIC determine what sort of settlment resources they need. There is nothing to force you to live where you listed unless you are requesting Quebec selection or another PNP program.
