weather is mild. You must like rain to live here. Rents are expensive - 2 bedroom apartment... $1,200 and up. sales and marketing jobs? how is your english? you may have to prove yourself by working your way up. Your job history will be key to finding the right position.

Yes, it does rain here a fair bit, however you get used to it. I moved to Vancouver from Ontario 10 years ago and wouldn´t be anywhere else. The lifestyle is generally very active and people enjoy outdoor sports. If you are looking for snow, we don´t have it, but you can drive to it.

Cost of living is more expensive for things like rent, car insurance... however if you have the salary to support the additional cost it is a great place to live.

I think we had 2 days of snow last year.

rents in Surrey are less than Vancouver but not by much.

Check Craigslist for some ideas.

basement suites are usually several rooms that are part of someone´s house. You have your own entrance etc. but the owner of the house or another renter lives upstairs. Usually, this type of housing is a little cheaper but not as consistent as multi family apartments. Some are great - others... well, I would not let my dog live there and are not necessarily legal from the municipal zoning perspective.

general rule... the more you pay, the better the apartment, the better the location.
