Subject: Live in Caregiver work permit- For Roy or Sharon.
  Hi there,
I am new to the forum and have seen people asking either of you for suggestions/guidance therefore my post.
We have applied for a lic and have received a positive LMO. The nanny is already here and has sent off her complete package with the LMO and offer letter etc to Alberta. My question is how long does the process take approximately? Once she has received her work permit, is it in her best interest to work with us for 2 years before she brings her family in from the Philippines? Or is there a loophole that I should be aware of that she might just take the work permit and go elsewhere?
I am so new to this so sorry if my questions sound immature.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Also, is there a way to speed up the proces in AB- a fax by me or letter that it is urgent we have her?
Thanks.

:usually a month to get work permit if application is complete

:it is her choice to work with you for two years in a row.she may look for another employer if the employer-employee relationship is not funny anymore.
most cases, if employers are not abusive, nannies stay longer than expected. some ´dumb´ nannies, will bear the abuse just to finish the 2 year contract. so i suggest, if you´re the employer, put your feet in her shoes. dont let her work like a dog. i mean, be considerate, if youre employed too, you expect company´s benefits and privileges too.

bottom line: love your nanny, and for sure, she will kindly cling to you as a belt.

she can run anytime she wants. but she has to apply again for another work permit, in her work permit, she can only work on location, employer, client as specified.

no harm trying to fax AB for urgency.

i count myself lucky as a nanny.

thank you kindly for your response and suggestions.
I really respect her as a family member and she is great with my son. I think this is a 2 way street where there is a lot of give and take...I am willing to give a lot as the bottom line is my son is happy.
Please do you have the fax no for AB? Anyone..please..I would like to speed up the process/
Thanks a lot...this forum is great!
