Subject: Few queries for Skilled Immigrant
I am a 25 year old Indian man with a Masters degree in Comp Sci and 1 year exp at hand.

With the new Bill C-50 passed, how long would it take to process my application?

Do I need to apply for a work permit after I get my PR?

PR status entitles you to work at any job in Canada.

Unfortunately, we have no information as yet about the consequences of C-50. We are all in the same boat waiting with baited breath to see the new process.

Awesome! Thanks.

I am planning to apply by myself. Hope it works out well.

^^ I read this article and thought the rules of Bill c-50 are already in place. (They are not?)

One more thing I would like to ask is, suppose I apply for the PR and then start hunting for the job through workopolis or by hiring a consultant in Canada, do I have better chances if I put in my file number in the resume? Or should I start hunting for job right now itself? (W/O PR application)

think in reverse. get a job offer and all of a sudden your application moves to the top of the pile.

also consider PNP program or a work permit. both will move faster than a standard skilled worker application.

Will Bill C 50 affect PNP Programs in any way?

Thanks Sharon, am reading about the Temporary working visa´s. Quick ques.. is there any specified period after which the temporary visa expires? Can I keep working there on temporary visa and at the same time apply for PR? If so, I find it the best option for me to go there quickly :)
