We are migrating to Canada in October and i have three children who are attending to private international schools in English medium back home. Is their any difference between government schools and private schools in Canada and in schools do they have discrimination for Asians. My son is afraid as he sees those things in movies.
Please tell me about the real situation.
in private schools are they charging a high tution fee
Are they giving same good education in public schools

standards across all Canadian public schools are high. Not sure where you are planning to live but in Vancouver, 50% of school students are asian, so I would suggest the movies are wrong.

Private schools are used for those who want specific religious teaching as part of the ciriculum.

Movies exagerate discrimination so much. I went to public school in Canada for my entire education and there wasn´t much to complain about. Edication in public schools is just as good as private schools. The only reason to use private school is for a specific religous teaching.

Hi there, my husband has just been offered a position in Victoria Canada. We have two children aged 7yrs and 9yrs. I am not sure about what schools would be the better ones in that particular area of Victoria as we will be heading from New Zealand. Also any suggestions on good areas for housing, we will rent to start with, but would consider purchasing as we intend to stay for a good couple of years. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks
