I am a student from India and I have been accepted to University in Canada with 50% of my tuiton fee as scholarship but i have two negative points in my application
1.PR application of my mother in 2005
2.A rejected visitor visa a year ago.

How much chances do i have to get student visa? and how can i make my apllication more stronger?

we cannot predict what CIC will do but you really should do everything you can to convince CIC that you have every intention to return home after your student visa expires.

When you apply for student visa there are several things avisa oficer considers:

1. Financial Stability: You have save 50% of your tuitions which means you are a talented student, however, you need to satisfy them if you are able to finance the rest of the 50%.

2. Your´s mother´s application for Permanant Residence will rasie questions, however, be honest and try to convince them as mentioned by sharon.

3. Ties to your home country: Show some ties to your home country.

4. Be very confident during the interview and do not get the tension as it will confuse you in answering the questions. Usually the interviews for student visas are not very long so be very confident when answering the questions. Confident means: act normal and do not mask yourself with something that you are not.

I wish you good luck!
