I recently got married in China and plan to move with my wife to Canada next year. As I begin the application process I´m still a little confused as to whether spousal invitations require a minimum income. At one place on the CIC website (I can´t find it now) it stated spousal invitations were the only class of sponsorship NOT requiring a mininum income. However, on another part of the CIC website it says sponsors must be able to show they meet the mininum income requirements.
What is the case? Has anyone successfully sponsored a spouse from out of country without meeting the minimum financial requirements?

Dear Graham,
I am just reproducing the law for you.
NOTE that there is no requirement to show a minimum level of income to sponsor a spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner, or child; the income requirement only applies to other types of sponsored relatives.
