I have done Masters in computer sciences. My age is 35. Im married and hv 2 kids under the age of 12 yrs. Im currrently working in an overseas education consultancy firm as career counselor. My job experince is not relevant to my professional degree. Plz tell me can I apply for canadian immigration. Is that necessary to have degree relevant work experince. Also do the education consultants come under the high skilled category or not.

Hi Huma... first thing most people will tell you is to read and find out on your own about all the different programs available to immigrate to Canada... you can do that by visiting:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/

but, at the same time I can also tell you that your work experience does not have to be related to your degree... In my case, I had different NOC numbers because I had different jobs throughout the last 10 years of work experience... for my most recent job (current one) I do not even have a degree that lelates to it and yet...

So, I think as long as you have the education level they require for whichever program you are interested in and as long as you have the required number of work experience years... you should be okay...

But, remember to read and to find out exactly what you want... there are different ways to get to Canada... these days, most people will tell you that the fastes way is to get a job offer from a Canadian employer who is willing to help you get there... It´s hard though, especially if you live abroad... but it´s not impossible ...

Good Luck with everything!

and yet...What? Pls continue? Are you already in Canada or still processing your papers? Thanks
