| Subject: Can I stay with husband in UK while sponsoring him |

Hi there! I have a further leave to remain as a married spouse in the UK and it´s valid for 2 years. However, we both want to move back to Canada. I plan on sponsoring him as my spouse, can I stay in the UK with him or do I have to apply from Canada? We have already spent 2 years apart from each other while we were dating and I couldn´t bear spending more time away from him while we are married!

Hi,
If you are a citizen of Canada, you could sponsor your spouse while staying out of Canada.But you must promise to return and stay in Canada once your spouse receives the PR.

I don´t understand the rules like Francine about sponsoring my spouse while staying out of Canada. How do I ´prove´ that I will be returning to Canada with him? Do I have to separate from him (Thailand)first and go and find a job, apartment etc. in Canada before he comes? Will Canadian Immigration accept if we live with my parents after we both return to Canada?
