i am a indian student studying masters at a univ. in chicago. i want to visit canada for couple of weeks to visit my sister. what all documents do i need as i have to apply from usa not from india and the embassy website dosent carry proper information. and also if i call the detroit consolate the call is on computer and dosent go to some executive.

Logical reason to visit other then seeing Niagara Falls and a logical reason to return etc.
Your sister should show evidence that they intend to purchase visitor health insurance for you and all of the normal common sense issues.
