I am an Indian Citizen. I applied for PR for Canada at CHC, New Delhi, India. Meanwhile, I went to USA, on student visa, for 11 WEEKS in 2007. After that I returned to India and since then I am in India only. Now, I have got letter from CHC, New Delhi that produce FBI Clearance certificate. When my stay in USA is less than 6 MONTHS, still I need FBI Clearance certificate? If YES, then how to get FBI Clearance from India? Because, I am NOT planning to go to USA now. Waiting for your help and guidance....please....

Usually CHC would only ask for police certificate from places you have lived for 6 months or more. They of course retain the rights to ask for certificates from countries you have lived for less than 6 months.

To get FBI certification, download and print the form and instructions from:

http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/fprequest.htm

Complete the form.
Go to your local police station and have them take your fingerprints on the card you downloaded.
Send the form to the address provided with the required payment.
