Why would the public read about CSIC nomination but CSIC does not mention anything about to the public? Any Comment

Dear CAPIC members.

Nominations have now closed, and we will soon learn which of your fellow CCICs will be running for two positions on the CSIC Board.

This election is very significant for our profession, because for the first time in our history, all six Consultant Directors will have been chosen by the full membership in a free election.
This means that we will finally be fully responsible for who is running our Society. It is very important that all CCICs get involved in this election, understand the issues and evaluate all of the candidates, before exercising their democratic right to vote. The outside world will be watching to see if we are worthy of the responsibility of self government.

CAPIC will not be supporting any one candidate, as it is very possible that several of our members may run, and it would not be fair to play favorites. However, we will be taking public stands on issues, as is our responsibility as your Association.
We are also welcoming all candidates to post their positions on our Discussion Board, even if they are not CAPIC members, so that highly capable candidates, who may not be as well known as other candidates, have an opportunity to allow members to get to know them and their policies.

According to the Election Rules, candidates will not be announced until May 20th 2008. We shall issue special access passes to those individuals so our members can ask them questions on the issues.
We believe that a well informed electorate will make the best decisions for the future of our profession. Please go to the Candidates Forum on the discussion Board and post your questions.

On Behalf of the Board of Directors,

Phil Mooney
President, CAPIC
