Subject: Expired
well i am having U.S driving license but its expired and i am moving to Canada as a new immigrant so is it possible if i can exchage it with Canadian license or am i gonna get some kind of advantage in canada or not of having U.S driving license but expired. Thanx for your comments.

Why not renew your U.S. license before exchanging for Canadian? That should guarantee no problems when doing so.

Also be sure to have your drivers history extract with you in case your state does not have a reciprocal agreement with the province you´re moving to.

Thanx Richard ......well i cant renew it now. couz i came bak to my my country and will go straight to Canada. so......and plz tell me how to get the history of driving license ? anyone plz

Each province is a little different. But in Ontario for example, the driver´s licence exchange rules state:

To exchange for a G1 class licence: "all applicants for an Ontario driver´s licence are required to present a valid foreign driver´s licence."

I interpret "valid" as meaning non-expired. But you can call the province to make sure.

As far as drivers history extract (in Ontario for example), check this link for requirements:

Illinois, New Jersey, and Vermont don´t have reciprocal agreements with Ontario.
