Subject: Divorce certificate
Hello everybody! I handed over all the supporting documents and I was asked to send the "divorce certificate" of my commom-law, they gave me two months. He has just file for his divorce last month (in spite of me) and the paper we presented was a simple copy from a legal community organization, (valid in Chile for who does not have a private lawyer), it states the initial phase of whole process, we will have the final document in one year (I hope) Do they want that final document? If so, will the process take longer? In my case, I am in an advance situation cause my divorce is in the court, but I do not have the final paper and they did not ask for it... Thanks for the attention and good luck

It must be the time of day or me passing out due to the stress Richard and his buddy Obama put me through last night.

Why are you filing for "divorce" of a common law relationship? Is that a requirement in Chile?

Are you wanting to submit a spousal sponsorship applications based on a common law union and are delaying because your not divorced? Not a problem! If your living common law and not divorced yet no problem that is why the conjugal provisions exist.

Were are you and your partner residing? R U living together?

Clarifications please.

DIVORCE CERTIFICATE (in reply to: Divorce certificate)
Dear Roy, I separated from my husband in 2004, my partner did so in 2001. I started my divorce in 2006, my partner has just started his divorce... We both have been living together in a common law relation since 2006. Our current marital situation is common law, so we applied as common law. Our divorces processes are in a different stage, you see, mine is advanced, his is in an initial stage, but CIC wants his "divorce certificate" and in Chile getting a divorce takes at least one year, so will it cause a delay in the whole process? Why they did not ask for my "divorce certificate"? I am the principal applicant, I applied with 70 points, we live in Chile and we are Chilean. I hope it is clear, it seems it was a bit confuse. Thanks for your comments,
