| Subject: Medicals and Pregnant (XRAY) |

After a long waiting period we finally today received a letter from London, telling us to proceed with the medical exam. My wife is 13 weeks pregnant and we feel not at ease with the whole xray requirement. Does anyone have similar experiences? What did you do? Is there anything we can request the London office? A waiver? Should we send them an email explaining all of this.....?

oh by the way, they had put my photo on my wife´s form and vice versa...

Dear Mat, just go to the Doctor and I am sure that the doctor would not take a x-ray if he feels that x-ray would cause any kind of problem for the baby. Then the doctor will forward the info to CIC that your wife is pregnant and that´s the reason why he could not take a x-ray. Good luck

I have also experieced same thing. I wrote to cic and they postponed our medical examination till the birth of new born baby

I have been in the same situation also. We went ahead with the XRAY because they just asked for a chest XRAY. Doctors are usually okay with a chest XRAY if the womens abdomen is shielded properly. If XRAY of the areas below the chest are required then it is problematic and worth delaying it till post partum. Hope that helps. If doctors are reluctant in taking chest x-rays during pregnancy then you need to write to CIC and attach the pregnanacy report and doctors note that they are not in the position to take the X-Rays and they will delay the medicals. However, you can not get a medical waiver so do not fight for it, you will be wating time. Remember, if medicals are delayed until the birth then you need to add your newley born in the application as well and pay the required fees and they will iisue another medical forms for your newley baby for you as well. They already have made a mistake on your forms so you need to contact them anyway. Do not delay, consult the doctor and ask if they are okay with the X-ray during pregnancy or not. If not then write to your consulate, send your forms back, and write them about the mistake they made and inform them about the pregnancy thing and they will delay the medicals and send you the new medicals later on. Do not forget to make a photocopy of the forms they sent you and send the forms back through a mail system you can track with signature requirment upon delivery. and keep all the recipets safe for future references. Have a solid sheet of lead between X-ray and the baby and let them do X-rays for your wife´s chest. X-rays will not penetrate lead and as long as they do not hit the baby, there should be no problem.

i AM A RADIOGRAPHER, WE CAN TAKE X-RAY WITH THE HELP OF SHIELD THIS IS NOT HARM FOR BABY, FOR CHEST X RAY WE ARE GIVING VERY LESS EXPOSURE(RADIATION)

Hi! I already received my request for medical. But suddenly I got pregnant. I will deliver the baby on January 2014. I received the request for medical last August 15, 2012. As what I know, I cannot undergo xray test because it;s not good for the health of the baby.They’re only giving me 60 days from the time that I have received my request for medical. I’m still single and not married. Can you please give me an advice of what do i need to do to continue with the process? If I need to write to the visa office, can anyone give me the address where i will send my letter? I am under Provincial nominee program and they have forwarded my file to abudhabi office. I don´t know where i will send my letter regarding my present situation.I hope somebody can help me. Thanks!
