Hi All,
Some background first
In US filed at Buffalo
AOR: Dec 2006
IA : Jun 2007
Medicals Done: July 2007
Medicals Redone for Spouse(requested by CIC): November 2007
RFE : January 2008
I was very excited to see that my IA was completed within 6 months of AOR and was requested to submit medicals and landing fee which was done in July 2007. In Oct 2007 they ask us to do medicals again for my spouse which we did and CIC received it in Nov 2007. The doctor told us that there was nothing wrong with the results they just randomly select people to redo the medicals. After that I received an RFE in January to submit copy of my current passport and what I have been doing since the AOR date of DEC 2006, which i immediately responded to through fax. Now its mid April 2008 and I have not heard anything from them. I have emailed the Buffalo center a couple of times and reponse was generic that they cannot provide a timeline. I also emailed the case specific email thingy on buffalo´s website and the answer was the same that they cannot give me timeline. Now from what I know is that the meidcals are valid for 1 year and u generally land before that 1 year is over. In my case, i dont know which date will be considered, the one in July of 2007 or when it was redone in Nov 2007(spouse only). My second concern is why are they taking such a long time after everything is done (assuming IA is the phase where they verify everything). Do any of you been in similar situation or know how to find out what is going on with my application. Any help will be apprecaited.

Yes, CAIPS is for that and FOSS for inside Canada
