| Subject: While 'visiting', can my 10 yr old attend school? |

I am a USC, my soon-to-be hubby is Canadian. We will be doing the Outland app; if my 10 yr old son and I are ´visiting´ while waiting for the app to be approved (I understand there is a 6 month visit limit), would he be allowed to go to a public Canadian school? Or do we need to show that he is either a resident or citizen to attend school?

people don´t usually enroll their kids in school while on holidays.

Educators are Educators FIRST.
Depending on which large centre your closest to depends on the procedure you will need to get this issue done. Kids need to be in school, period!
Some school boards require evidence that your partner has submitted a spousal sponsorship application. Some require nothing more then some evidence the child is yours.
Proving a sponsorship can be the stamped CIC bank payment form, the letter approving your partner as a sponsor that will have your name on it or including e-cas print out with these items.
PLEASE make sure your schedule one shows your US residential address.
Buffalo RPC will ask for written consent of your sons biological father to allow him to immigrate.
Some will be upset of you wanting to have the best of both worlds while sticking other Canadians with the increased taxes to pay for your sons education but....I like all who put their children first!
Since your partner is already paying school taxes, its not a big issue with me.
