Subject: Degree Completion Date Confusion
  Hi,

I completed & gave exams for my BSc degree on 10-12 December 2008 and received the results on 26-2-2008. The graduation ceremony will be held sometime in June/July 2008.

I applied under skilled worker category and sent my simplified application on 19-1-2008.

I am confused as to when i should treat my degree completed? when i finished my exams? When i received the results? or When i will graduate?

Please advice.

Thanks

Your degree completion date is when you are issued a letter by your school that you have completed all the requirements for the award of degree. This is usually issued upon request after all the results are available.

Thanks Samm. Well in fact the results for available only online in Feb. 2008 and then the transcript were sent in April. 2008 so..........still confused? i sent the application in January 2008.

Just want to know if they will simply reject my application because of this?

Your application will not be rejected because of this. It seems that you completed your degree in February 2008.

Andy,

Can you get a letter from your school stating that you have fulfilled all the requirements for the degree and are awaiting award ceremony in June?

You can then send that letter to CIC as evidence of completion.
