if you don´t like bridges or tunnels - forget Vancouver.

Vancouver has water on 2 sides, mountains on one side and we are slowly squeezing up the last option to the east and that is the best agricultural land in the country.

I have a funny feeling you might be looking for something that does not exit. Even Kelowna has a bridge. (only they go over a lake)

Since I still have a little bit of snow on the front and back lawn don´t choose anything in the greater Toronto area. GTA

No, I was just trying some humor. I´m sure everyone has to compromise here and there, else we would all be in Utopia.... err.... then it won´t be Utopia anymore ..... there I go again !!

Raj, you took the words right out of my mouth. What you want does not exist- anywhere.

100% satisfaction and security ain´t going to happen. One kid will love it, one will hate it, it might be perfect for your kids but you hate your job or the commute.

At some point you will have to bloom where you are planted.

Yeah I think what WE all want does not exist - anywhere. The important thing is not to take that and become complacent.

true, BUT, you never learn to swim unless you get in the pool. Thinking too much can bring on paralysis.

Nobody says you have to stay in one place forever. You won´t know what you like and don´t like until you get here and try it all out for a while.

Here was one biggie that makes sense - the younger your kids are when they move... the better they adapt and flourish. makes sense to me.

I think we are over emphasizing a few things including the concept that I am worrying too much, I don´t think so, like I said I will have to compromise in the end, but just my quest for knowledge/information is resulting in me being branded as trying too much, moreover once you start getting older you would not want to move often, young kids are oblivious to these things and you are right, they adapt pretty fast.

there is not one school in the greater Vancouver district where I would feel negiligent in sending my child - really and truly.

what I am suggesting is that you are putting far too much pressure on yourself. It is wonderful to see a father concerned for his family. There are no guarantees in this life. All you can do is make a reasoned judgement and then deal with anything you may have missed. In the end, kids and families are pretty resilient.

Sometimes I get frustrated that people do not do their homework and due diligence about their future home. I would hate to see you wait and wait and research and reseach yourself into doing nothing. Trust your ability to mitigate.
