This Canadian citizen is just filling in his sponsorship documents for his wife from Mexico and I see that there is no income requirement to sponsor your spouse but what about those required documents - do I still have to submit those documents which are listed in supporting document list such as:
a. item 17- An orginical C printout of my Notice of Assessment
b. item 18 a letter from my employer giving detials about my job, salary etc.?
I would be glad if you kindly give me some information on those sections.
Thank you in advance

(in reply to: To Roy and other experts) No not really the required documentation list is a general form just like the IMM 008
If you have the letter from the employer and income tax return submit same. Consider a seventy year old sponsoring someone who has been retired for twenty years since they won the lottery how are they going to get an employment letter?

(in reply to: To Roy and other experts) Thanks for the reply Roy, sorry for having a slow brain ..but do you mean I still have to submit either of the documents in item 17/ 18 ? Or NONE of those documents is needed?
Thanks again

(in reply to: To Roy and other experts) If I am not incorrect you have to submit option C print out, as this is how they access if you are using or have used social assistance (welfare). If you are on welfare,or have been on welfare, I´ve been told they will not allow you to sponsor.

(in reply to: To Roy and other experts) you don´t need those info if you are sponsoring your wife. if your wife has dependents then you need. i would suggest if you have any proff of employment before like pay stubs or anything then send them other wise don´t worry.
