Subject: NOC List
My neice is 25 years old and she is BS- Hotel and Restaurant Institution Management graduate. Currently her work experience in the Philippines is as a Reservations Coordinator. Her experience falls under the sales and service occupation category and the NOC code is 6435 Hotel Front Desk Clerks. But under the NOC list under sales and service occupation only Major Group 62 is considered.Does that mean that Major Group 64 where she falls under is not considered skilled under the NOC category? Who is an expert I can talk to on determining which is considered skilled experience by the NOC?

what is is this? (in reply to: NOC List)
I applied for MPNP - gen. stream w/ 2 friends sponsoring. I am amaze that there is such a grouping of jobs in Canada. What group will I fall? I am a licensed music teacher here in the Philippines but not practicing instead working into back office/ outsoursing company here in the Philippines. I worked under the accounts of First American Title Insurance (doing title insurance policies, ADEC Solutions) for the first to second year of my internship and then accepted offer from AIG´s American General Life Insurance from my 3rd year up to now (3 years in AIG). What category or groupings I belong? Can anyone tell if I am considered skilled? Please tell my chances?

thank you all...

NOC LIST POSTING (in reply to: NOC List)
Those NOC does not really mean anything.
When you come to Canada, the employers
do not recognize whatever certificates you have,
bachelors degrees or masters degrees that you may have.
Their first question,"Do you have a Canadian Experience?"
Definitely -NONE- . As such, you have to prove yourself
by showing them what you can do and deliver. More often than not, you may have to go back to a local college or university to study and re-train yourself so as to be able to think, talk, behave and synchronized yourself to the typical Canadian mind set.
It´s more than just knowing the Engish or French language
that will help you understand Canadians.
You got to know the of the locality you intend to go.
Coming to Canada is challenging and bitter sweet-not a bed of roses as projected by those Canadian consultancy and
recruitment agencies. GOOD LUCK
