Subject: Letter from Immigration Canada
  Hi.
I´m the Canadian spouse of an American. We both live here in the US. I sent my application to sponsor out at the beginning of March, and I just logged on to CAS and checked the status. It says
Application to Sponsor - DECISION MADE
Permanent Residence Application Status - NOT AVAILABLE
When I click on DECISION MADE, it says a letter has been sent out to inform me of the status of my application to sponsor.
It doesn´t say an approval letter had been sent out..or that the decision had been approved..just that a letter was sent out. I´m wondering if anyone else has experience with this - does this mean that my sponsorship has most likely been turned down (because the permanent residence application status just says ´unknown´ rather than processing or something?)
Please let me know. The letter will probably get here in a few days but I want someone to just put me out of my misery :/

Negative thoughts bring negative answers so think only positive.

If you worked hard on proving a bond and filled in everything well expect a positive result if not then contact someone who can represent you at an appeal.

Go get your CAIPs now either way.

What's a CAIP? (in reply to: Letter from Immigration Canada)
Well, I feel really dumb for asking this but what is a CAIP?
I´m sure we filled out everything correctly, but our relationship is very unusual so I don´t know. If we do get turned down and try and appeal, would that cost money or mean that the money we paid would not be returned?
If Canada does turn us down, then I´m considering applying for the UK, but that seems a lot more complicated.

Hi,

Thats what also says in our appplication when i check it online last march 25th, 2008 and my husband got a letter from CIC on March 31st 2008 that he is approved to sponsor and my application has been forwarded to local office. I think they wont specifically say whats their decision on your application online, most likely your are approved to sponsor too. But just to make sure, just wait for the letter and it will come right in your doorstep soon.

Goodluck!

CAIPS is short for ´Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System´. It is the computer system used by Citizenship & Immigration Canada to process visa applications, and holds all the information on the current status of every immigration application being processed by overseas offices (i.e. those outside of Canada).

almost 3 years now "DESION MADE" (in reply to: Letter from Immigration Canada)
Hi,

I applied in August 2005, our local office (port of spain) is swamped so it basically takes 3 years to get approval.

My question is my e-CAS status now says "Decision Made" after having been "in process".

The status around 28th March 2008.

However when I click the "deciion made" it simply states that my application was received in August 2005 and that they will be contacting me with their decision shortly.

I have not been requested to do any medicals. I have provided them up to date information as requested.

Can anyone shed some light... has my application been declined?
