Subject: No Goods to Follow...
Hello everyone,

I know it may sound funny but is it possible not to have goods to follow?... I mean to just land with only our luggages and personal items and that it...

Thanks

No problem at all.

I landed first time with just a small luggage.

Yes. What you bring would actually be your "Goods" list, and you would not have a "Goods to Follow" list. Just fill out the standard "Goods" list without checking the checkbox "List of goods to follow".

Lily you are smart if ya don´t have a ton of crap following you, like most of the stupid immigrants who seem to bring even pots ´n pans! Light travel is easy travel... and is more comfortable. One could carry a whole lota cash in checks and cash form and settle nicely than bring every piece of crap they may have accumulated over time. I saw one immigrant (American) landing and boy did he have crap! He brought even a couch! I was mad as hell. When the customs people stepped away, I asked him why the hell he brought a couch to Canada. He was somewhat dumb.

Thank you for the replies...

I wouldn´t mind bringing my furniture to Canada (that is if I get approved) but I don´t think the stuff we have is worth the trouble so... I think I better sell it all and bring whatever cash I can get for it I suppose...

thanks again!

I helped a new Canadian get set up in an apartment as a bit of a fun project. We bought some things new and some came from the thrift store. We fully furnished and stocked (dishes, linens, etc) a 2 BDR apartment for $5,000 and that included a computer.

bring your precious stuff. the bulky items - forget it. shipping will cost more than replacing them.

Yes, I agree doesn´t make sense to bring all the big heavy stuff due to moving costs, paperwork, and overall hassle. The exception to that I think is if moving from the U.S. It can be cost effective to rent an inexpensive U-Haul trailer and bring furniture and the like that could otherwise be quite expensive in Canada.

But I´m guessing Lily is coming from overseas.
