Subject: Getting a true copy of record of landing
  Hi:
I have became a permanant resident of Canada in 1993. In the year 2004, I became a Canadian Citizen. Right now I am in need of my record of Landing for obtaining Overseas Citizen Of India.

Unfortunately, I neither have the original document nor I have a copy of the same.
Can anyone let me know how to obtain a certified copy of the same and how and where to apply for the same, where to obtain the necessary forms and how much it costs.
Thank you

Certified Copy of Record of landing (in reply to: Getting a true copy of record of landing)
Thanks Roy!
A few more doubts.
What is this FOSS number? Is it a number shown on the right side of the Remarks column (number 39)of Record of Landing? This number is also written on my Indian Passport, with ink where the immigration Canada has stamped on my Indian Passport when I entered Canada as an immigrant.
This is the only number right now which I can connect my entry to a document I need.

The number starts with the letter W and has 9 digits following the letter W. Will this number be of any help in tracking my landing record?
I have Landing Documents of other family members who arrived with me and I could find their passports are stamped with this number written on ink.

What your referring to is your IMM 1000 Record of Landing certificate number. At the time you landed they started with a W and where found in the bottom right hand corner of the long form IMM 1000.

When CIC introduced the Permanent Residency Card they switched the IMM 1000 "W" numbers to an eight digit numbered system.

FOSS is the in Canada computer system CIC uses to track their clients.

landed papers (in reply to: Getting a true copy of record of landing)
Hi:
To get a copy of the landing paper, please follow the link given by Roy at the top of these messages.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/certcopy.asp

Download application form, fill the same and return to your Immigration Office with required fee.
Usually it takes 12 weeks to get a certified copy of the same.

Do you need the landing paper while applying for Old Age Pension, in spite of being a Canadian Citizen?

Getting a true copy of record of landing posting (in reply to: Getting a true copy of record of landing)
Hi Chanran,

About whether or not you have to have that landing paper, I do know that somebody at the call centre said to me that they won´t even look at the application if you don´t answer that question about landing info.

I sent my application for a copy of mine, but those people don´t move all that fast (not with 1950´s types)

When I applied for my Old Age Pension, I was ask to provide a certified RECORD OF LANDING, which unfortunatly I do not have, so how can I optain this IMM 1000 Record of Landing?
