| Subject: immigrant visa and HIV |

Hey everybody!
I would appreciate if someone can help me -here´s my question: I was about to start the application process for an immigrant visa to Canada when I realized that I was HIV+. It´s the early stage, no medicines for now.. Does the Canadian Immigration law allows individuals to apply for an immigrant visa in this situation? Or what are my options? I´m from East Europe.

According to the CIC site, HIV is not in of itself a reason for refusal. I would recommend that you go ahead and apply, with the understanding that you will need to wait until after you take your medicals to find out whether your are declared admissible or not. Perhaps someone here has experience and can help you further.
