Subject: Anyone travelled by train (Amtrak) ?
Is there anyone on this forum who travelled to Canada by train? Any experience you could share? Wondering what´s the procedure of coming
in the States by train?

Thanks.

I travelled from Montreal, QC (Bonaventure Central Station) to New York City (Penn Station) and viceversa.

When the train is closed to the US-CAN border, you will reach the customs stop. The train is stopped while immigration agents do their job. They check your passport, Visa, etc. You do not have to get out of the train. The agents walk to each passenger. Also, there are agents in order to check your custom declaration and you baggage. Usually, these activities last half an hour depending on the season.

Finally, the train keeps going until the last stop.

Good luck!
