Subject: FSW class - need to keep balance in banks?
  Hi,

I submitted my FSW immig application to the London office (currently working in London). When I submitted my proof of funds, I included letters from a London bank and another from a Canadian bank.

Am I (are we) supposed to keep the balance in those bank account equal to/above the amount that was specified in the bank letters at the time of my application? Or is it ok for the bank balances to change? I read on some boards that CIC calls the banks but only to check that an account really exists; they don´t necessarily ask for the current account balance. I will definitely have the funds available when it comes time for me to land in Canada. However, until that time comes, I sometimes have to use funds in my bank accounts.

Thank you for any experience you can share.

Tammy

Hi, I did not know CIC calls to the bank. It should be illegal to tell someone bank balance to other person.

You do not need to maintain the balance in your account. If CIC doubts you, you will be asked to provide last three (sometimes six) months bank statement.
