Surprise: counterintuitive result! H&C/Public Policy Cases Acceptance Rates, Jan 2002 to December 2006
We received statistics under Access for the final decision acceptance rates for H&C cases. These are H&C cases like the ?Laibar Singh? case. The figures speak for themselves? H&C acceptance rates have jumped from 49.4% in 2003 to 69.3% in 2006. And, the total number of cases have increased from 2327 cases in 2003 to 9,459 cases in 2006. There are more
cases, and higher acceptance rates. The Government has exercised compassion to thousands more people? quietly!

This is wonderful news, you shared Roy. I hope my dad´s application is approved as well. Its been 4 months already since i sent his application and few days ago i sent them IMM 1283 as they asked for it. I am hoping for a favorable decision.
Thanks for the information, Roy.

So Mike did you go to a Doctor and get a letter how devastated you would be if your father had to apply abroad and how you can not sleep at night?

No, i did not go to any doctor because i do not have to. My case is genuine and i do not have to fake it by going to a doctor and getting a fake letter that i can not sleep. My dad is still with me so i can sleep very well, if he is asked to leave the country then probably i shall get sleepless nights and i have told CIC that how it is going to affect all of my family if he is asked to leave the country.

Mike, don´t assume your care and concern for your father will translate to your application in a sufficent way to render a positive verdict.

Roy gave you a suggestion and while it may seem trite or over the top, you may not wish to be so positive about your chances for approval.

Well, Roy is a great help on this forum but i havent got in touch with him before submitting my application. Getting a letter from doctor may be one of his strategies to convince visa officers. And i agree that this could be a convincing addition in the application but i did not do it. Because i did not know about it. Secondly, i believe one can not go anywhere based on lies and fabricated stories. I have no idea if i have convinced officer that my dad really deserves compassion but i alawsy hope for the best because of my positive nature.

Mike

I can only assume that your very concerned about your father alone in the old country and that may be a reason to seek some medical attention for yourself.

You by submitting a H&C application on your own for your father must because of grave concerns that would lead a logical thinking person that he has Unusual and Undeserved Hardship not anticipated by the act or regulation and in most cases beyond your fathers control.

I on the other hand in no way believes those great statistics!!!!!!

Statistics can easily be manipulated.

nobody is suggesting you lie or fabricate stories. If you are concerned, make sure CIC fully understand the full extent of your concern and the full extent of your reasons. Do not assume they will read between the lines for you.
