Subject: Re taking IELTS and effect of sending new result
  Hi everyone,

I have problem in regarding to my IELTS exam. I took the exam in May 2007 and didn´t get any response from CIC since applied to Buffalo. I live in Canada on study permit status. It is quite a long time ago since I applied. I thought I might have some sort of problem in reaching 67 points.

Currently I am thinking to take the exam once again and would like to raise my points before I get my IA. Does the CIC accept my new IELTS exam result or not?

I would really appreciate for your kind advice.

Thank you

Hund

Yes, if they have not made the decision already.

Hund,
So your previous score does not give you max points ? Is that why you are appearing for the test again ?
I would suggest you contact them (CIC) through e-mail and ask them for the status of your application as by now you should have received the IA atleast.
I am hoping you will have more information after that, so that you can decide if you want to take the test again.

sdhkr,
If you get max=16 points for language, then can you qualify without the extra points for your relatives ?
If yes, then its better you take the test and score a band of 7 atleast on each of the areas, but you will have to respond to the CIC request for evidence of relatives. If you cannot prove that they reside in Canada at this moment, then its better off if you can explain to them that you will no longer claim points for relatives as they do not reside in Canada anymore.
Before you rule out the last option try to find out what is required to prove residency.

From what you have stated in your post, you get the following points.

Education:25 (Master´s degree with 17 years of full time or equivalent)
Experience:21
Language:10
Age:10 (between 21 to 49 yrs)

You should take IELTS again and improve your score.
